Typically plugins are removed from WordPress.Org because they are found to have security flaws or are no longer being maintained (updated) to work with current versions of WordPress which makes them less secure and a risk for your site.

The security of your website & hosting depends on your WordPress installation be as up to date as possible and that would include any plugins. If you are running WordFence or other security plugins, you will have already received notices about these plugins in your last daily or weekly scans.
