I'm having problems sending email with Outlook or Outlook Express. Why?

Check your account settings. Be certain that your POP and SMTP servers are correct and correspond with the information you were given when your domain hosting was setup. Double check your username and password.

If you are still having problems, chances are this is an authentication error caused when Outlook / Outlook Express attempts to send mail before receiving mail.

Your mail server requires you authenticate who your are before you can send email. When you retrieve your email you authenticate yourself by confirming your user name and password.

If you are using Outlook, or Outlook Express - you need to make sure in the account setup, that the box for "My server requires authentication" is checked and that the "Use same settings as my incoming mail" radio button is checked. (All of this is on the "servers" tab in the account setup). Try to "receive" or "check" mail before trying to send your email again.

Remove ALL emails in your "Outbox", close Outlook completely. Open again, try to send a new email.
